ART in ARGENTINA

These are works that stay with me from our trip to parts of Argentina in the fall of 2016.

CORDOBA

The first two images immediately below are in front of different museums in Cordoba. The middle images (3 - 7) are of a mural in the courtyard of the Museo Iberamericano de Artisanos.

The last images for Cordoba are from an exhibit at the Museo de Bellas Artes Evita of the extraordinary work of Carlos Alonso (b. 1929). They are preceded by information about him and the exhibit, "Manos anonimos [Anonymous Hands]." His subject matter is the horrors of the Military Dictatorship that dominated Argentina from 1976 to 1983. The lighting was not ideal and there is some reflection on the images, but the power of Alonso's work comes through.
